Something called Decision Fatigue

Did you know there is something called Decision Fatigue?  If you are like me, I didn’t, until recently that is.  It is when your mind basically shuts down from over activity becoming overloaded with having to make decisions.  Kind of like when you go, go, go and your body forces you to rest.

Each day we are making hundreds, maybe thousands of decisions – they starting at the break of dawn with deciding if we are going to hit the snooze alarm or get up - followed by what am I going to wear, what will I have for breakfast, lunch and dinner, what do I need to accomplish today, who do I need to contact, and so forth.  Some are so minor or part of our routine, we don’t think too much about them and others that are more significant are emotional and take much greater effort.

The decisions that carry more weight can involve major life changes and can be made easier from having someone to work with to help with the decision-making process while navigating through the transition.  Someone who is unbiased, yet 100% in your corner, who will listen and guide you with intent toward what is next for you.  Anyone can get stuck at the point of asking themselves - should I or shouldn’t I … or after the decision has already made of what they will do; however, are not sure of how to get started… or they are midway in the process and need help moving forward.

If you or someone you know is stuck and not sure how to move forward with a life transition and experiencing decision fatigue, partnering with a life coach may be just what is needed.  We all can use help along the way and sometimes an objective partner can support you in finding the clearest path.
