Well, just 3 weeks in the condo and we started to settle into our new routines, then my dad gets a call telling him the apartment that he has been on the waiting list for has become available, sooner rather than later. This is great news!
According to the Farlex Financial Dictionary. the silver ceiling is an unspoken barrier to hiring or promotion that is experienced by some older employees. A silver ceiling may exist because some in management mistakenly believe older employees are not sufficiently innovative, or simply because they are too close to retirement to implement a long-term vision. We now know nothing is further from the truth!
With every transition in life, we often find ourselves alone, or at least without the comfortable support group formed from our last phase. The pandemic amplified this tenfold. Workers used to daily team meetings or even the occasional coffee break chats are finding themselves talking to themselves or even their pets! Now that restrictions are being lifted, some will return to their offices, but many will not. What will the new norm look like?
This pandemic continues to set new records in all aspects of our lives including those in retirement age. Understandably, many are less financially healthy than they were a year while others have decided that life is too short and have decided to live on much less.
Spring is always a time of promise. As we continue to move toward the end of lockdown, spring is, even more, if possible, a symbol of renewal. What better time than now to review the past, take stock of the current, and most importantly, start to plans for the future.
