The 7 Steps to Making a Change
Embarking on a change can be exhilarating for some, but for others and perhaps many, it can be scary. Either way you see it, you are in charge of forging your own path.
To help you I have broken down the path to change into 7 steps:
1. Declare the change you want and why you want to make it.
How will it feel?
How will your life be better?
What is the motivation for the change?
2. Identify what needs to occur to attain your goal for change.
3. Create a plan with action items and milestones to help you stay on task.
4. Be flexible.
Life has a habit of getting in the way of progress or taking us on a different trajectory than we originally intended. While that is okay, just remember to reset yourself and get back on track.
5. Stay committed by reminding yourself of the reason for the change.
6. Ask for help from trusted, knowledgeable and supporting resources. You do not have to travel the path alone.
7. Recognize and celebrate your milestones along the way; progress is worthy of recognition.
Remember, the steps aren’t always big; they don’t happen overnight or as fast as we’d like. However, the rewards and YOU are worth it!
